Ronin Kamisori – 6/8+ Traditional Hitachi Blue Paper Steel In Layered Suminagashi Pattern, Jute, Deerskin and Yuri-zu Finish.

Ronin Kamisori - 6/8+ Traditional Hitachi Blue Paper Steel In Layered Suminagashi Pattern, Jute, Deerskin and Yuri-zu Finish.

Easy to use in either hand due to the western style grind, this Japanese Kamisori (non-folding) straight razor features traditional japanese steels (center steel is very hard high carbon steel called blue paper steel, and is cladded with alternating layers of mild steel called Suminagashi), and my Yuri-Zu finish.

The bronze wash look to this razor gives an ancient quality I personally love, and the accompanying jute is humble looking, but adds character (and a great grip point).

Inherent geometry of the razor is 16.5 degrees, and sits proud and true on the hones and strop. It’s a very large 6/8” razor, at 21.4 mm.

This steel is a japanese damascus of sorts, and a material I personally treasure for the way it feels on the grind, and under the hammer.

I’m eager for it to go to be enjoyed for years to come.
