The blade is a very nice old wedge, likely mid 1800’s.
It needed a new set of scales, but wanted to keep the entire piece authentic looking since the blade had deep age and character.
To do this, I retained the wedge from the original scales, and placed within translucent ox horn. Atop this ox horn, I added an iconic anchor through scrimshaw.
