In the long history of this blade’s creation, the owner shared this quote with me from Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings. Extraordinary and fitting for the days we all are living in isolation.
The owner (a longtime fan of Tolkein’s work), wanted a blade with elvish characteristics.
My love for the films made me draw from the elvish weaponry and armour, finding a way to use natural colors (maple) along side organic and soft lines (the shank) with somewhat ornate and alien adornment (the inset to the shank).
Graceful, beautiful steel, ready for the long journey home. The idea started with the owner, and went there (my shop) and back again.
