Working with the customer on this piece was a joy, and he was able to send me ingredients of his family and story that I assembled into a razor for him. He knew he liked some of the motifs that I put together with my japanese blades, and some specific materials, and also wanted to send me some heirlooms from his family to incorporate. I cut up a small section of wood from a square used in his family, and made this the wedge. Visually I’m very happy with the textures on the blade and scales, and though it touches being a more “modern” looking blade, it retreats with some classic notes.
